Kristine Jensen, LCSW

Licensed Psychotherapist

Kristine has practiced individual psychotherapy and couples counseling since 1972. For 38 years she had a full time private practice in Sacramento before moving to the Monterey area. When she left her practice, she planned on retiring.


Retirement lasted for 2 years. Kristine then began a two year adventure serving as a counselor for active military and their families in Germany and Okinawa.


In January of 2015, Kristine opened a private practice located in Monterey .


Over her career, Kristine has supervised interns and trainees, been part-time adjunct faculty at CSUS and UCD, and served as consultant to other therapists. Kristine was licensed in the State of California in 1975. In her personal life, she is fortunate to have enjoyed 30 years of marriage, the raising of one son and one foster son, all of which took a lot of support and guidance!

2007-2009   Advanced Training with John Gottman,PhD  founder of                           the Gottman  Method for Couples counseling. 

2009             Advanced Training with Susan Johnson, MSW founder of                            Emotionally  Focused Couples Therapy

2012-2014   Counselor to active Military and their families

​2015          Opened part time practice in Monterey

2016 --       President of the Board of the Monterey County Chapter                             California Association of Marriage and Family                                           Therapists
